Day two on our epic journey across mainland Britain. We've left the West country and finished in the heart of England- Birmingham. It's about as far away from the sea as you can be in Britain.
The home of the British car industry and heavy rock music!
Birmingham was the birthplace of Samuel Johnson, who wrote the first English Dictionary. Arthur Conan-Doyle, the author of Sherlock Holmes and the poet Benjamin Zephaniah, performing a poem in this link here. JRR Tolkien and William Shakespeare were also born nearby.
