Year 1 Message board
Monday 25th January
Good morning Year 1!
I hope you all enjoyed the snow yesterday. I went out for a slippery walk yesterday with my family.
It is week four of home learning and your all doing a great job. Now that you have your work books at home, I have added in red text which book you should be working in. If there is no red text then the work does not go into a book.
I have also added a new link under the reading section to 'Collins Big Cat' books, which are phonic reading books. They are offering free Ebooks until the end of February and have some nice Fiction and Non-Fiction books.
When writing please remember to:
Use cursive handwriting.
Try and sound out words by yourself and use your sound mats to help you.
Use a capital letter at the start of a sentence.
Use correct punctuation at the end of a sentence. This may be a full stop, an exclamation mark, or a question mark.
Make sure that your letters are sitting on the line.
In Maths remember to:
Form your numerals correctly. (I have added a number formation guide under the maths section)
Explain your answers when completing some of the challenges. We like to see how you got the answer. Remember you can write or draw pictures to help you do this.
Sometimes there might be more than one answer to a problem. Especially some of the extra challenge 3 tasks.
Remember to complete Mr Vas's PE lesson and watch Mrs. Longworth's weekly themed assembly.
I will be on the Zoom register today and I'm looking forward to seeing your faces and hearing about your weekend
Have a lovely Monday!
Mrs. Hyland, Mrs. Wang and Mrs. Karageorgopoulou
