Welcome to Northside Primary School

Governors

Welcome to our Governors’ section.

Governors bring a wide range of skills and expertise from their professional lives to the governing board and school benefits greatly

from working with skilled volunteers, for example we bring experience of finance, law, premises management or human resources.

We enable the school to run as effectively as possible, working alongside senior leaders and supporting teachers to provide excellent education for the children. We are responsible for:

  • ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction for the school.
  • holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.
  • overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

As governors we have a commitment to attending governing body meetings which consider issues such as setting the school vision, mitigating financial risk, scrutinising educational outcomes and ratifying policies, for which we have legal responsibilities. We are also involved in the school community, acting as critical friends to Mrs Longworth and senior leaders.

Below you will find details of how our Governing Body is structured; including the names, categories, responsibilities, school houses, attendance and terms of appointment for each Governor. You can also read the minutes of our Full Governing Body meetings as well as our termly newsletters. Please do get in touch if you have any questions. Anahita Milligan  Chair of Governors
